I feel that the product that we had created was very successful as I feel that this will target the target audience that we were aiming for 15-19 year olds. The reason for this issue that they are

In our ident their where may constraints that we had to fact. The first constraint that we had faced was that there was not enough dolls with different ethnic backgrounds for instance we did  to have any aisian or muslim dolls. This is really bad due to the fact that this could receive some backlash as not being diverse. Diversity is needed due to the fact that in our college we have many different cultures and this will not be presented as well in our idents as we had hoped that it would be, this means that people may be angry that we were not diverse which is an ethical issue.

Another thing that wasn't foreseen was the fact that the dolls where unable to stand up and we  had even ordered magnets so that they would be able to move, there was a big impact on the  making of the idents as we had to find other ways in which we could make sure they stand up without us holding them so we had to use wooden stand that were kept out of shoots so that we could move the dolls around.

Another change that we had to make was our ident idea, we had changed our football ident for our art ident the reason being is that we thought that it would be near to impossible to create this as the dolls will be doing a lot of moving and as we had to use a wooden stand then this would been seen which would make it unrealistic which would mean that this is unprofessional so instead we decided to change it to the art show due to the fact that we were able to move the doll around without the wooden stand being shown.

The green room was also an issue due to the fact that other students will also want to use the green room which means that we would have to share the room with other students and  this meant that some of the lighting would go to them which then meant that it would be difficult so therefore we would have to work our way around it.

Equality and Diversity ~(Dicrimination act)

Equality and Diversity issues ( Discrimination Act 1995)

The Equality Act 2010. The Equality Act became law in October, 2010. It replaced previous legislation (such as the Race Relations Act 1976 and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995) and ensures consistency in what employers and employees need to do to make their workplaces a fair environment and comply with the law. The unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex, religion.

The equality act was made in 2010 this was so that people will stop discriminating against people’s race, age or the sex, peoples religion and peoples sexual orientation.

The reason why this could cause issues, as we are using dolls we can not discriminate against their race such as the race of them. The reason that this could become problematic because people may feel as if they are discriminating against colour so we will have to find dolls with diverse colours such as black and white dolls. Also due to the fact that we have more than one race within our college so therefore this is needed to showcase the different races that we have in our college.

Age will not be an issue due to the fact that we are using dolls and they all look of the same age however if we add younger dolls then this will look to childish due to the fact that we are already using dolls which is already childlike.

We will have many different types of dolls in our ident we will add male and female dolls, the reason for this is to show equality between the different sex’s within our college.

Religion can also become a problem if we do not showcase other religoions. The college is a Catholic college however we will showcase other religons. These is very useful due to the fact that we will not be discriminating against other religions. With the dolls we an show case diffrent religoions by dressing the dolls up into the diffrenent attire for instance to showcase a Muslim religion there will be a turban on the dolls head and to display Christianity we will try and show the dolls with the sign of the cross around their necks.

Risk ASSESMENT

The risk that we have is one of the crew members bumping into a table, due to the fact that when we are filming the lights are going to be off, and we would be lighting up the backdrop that we are working leaving nearly the whole room dark and we might not be able to see and therefore bump into
one if the  tables.
The solution for this risk is that we are going to push the table to the far end of the room where we will not visit often.

The biggest risk that we have is tripping on the wires laid out on the floor and because its going to be dark there is a high possibility that we will trip over this wires. The solution to this is that we are going to cover the wires with the green screen material that flows to the floor.

Diary

On this blog post I will be documenting a weekly account of what happened when meeting with our client and also the meetings that we had as a group to change our ideas.

Tuesday 11th April 2017 - Week 11st meeting with the Client David Pearson:

This was the first time that we had meet the client. We had to conduct ourselves in a professional manner. As a group we had to talk about what our ideas where and we had to talk about what we felt would be beneficial to the channel. We had 20 minutes to prepare ourselves with questions that we wanted to ask the client such as the theme, did we have to make sure that it was seasonal?, how would you want the college to be represented?, would we aim the ident more at the students that will be attending or will it focus on the parents ?. These were most of the questions that we had prepared ourselves to ask the client. When in the meeting we had to 'negotiate' what amendments we felt might be needed in the brief what we felt needed to be reconsidered or anything that we were unclear about. We had to see whether the brief would be formal or informal, and if so formal would it appeal to the right target audience?. However the client had agreed to change the fact that we could change the fact that it did not have to be four seasonal idents which meant that it would be easier for us to.

Wednesday 19th April 2017 - Week 2 Pre- Production 10 mins meeting with Mr Barton:

We had a meeting with Mr Barton to discuss our pre- production work. In our group our main speaker Michael suggested that we would showcase the different enrichment subjects within the college using dolls. In these idents we have to showcase what will be up next on the college YouTube channel so we have many ferent enrichment so we were going to use the dolls to showcase this instead of actually showing the college and people studying in college. Another point that Mr Barton told us to keep in mind is that we should consider the image as well as there are many more subject that will be showcased in this channel e.g. our college fashion shows, community days, chaplaincy, course work e.g. media and art exhibitions. In terms of the 'suite' of ideas Mr Barton emphasized showing 4 things that happen across the year at different points e.g. during Easter the fashion show and when the Christmas/talent show is usually around Christmas/ December times which all fall across different seasons meaning that we make the idents seasonal for the channel.

Tuesday 25th April 2017 -Week 3 2nd Meeting with client- Pitching Pre-Production portfolio, David Pearson:

We had meet with the client again but first as a group we had to discus what the client will see in the presentation. We also provided an overview of how we will want it to look also what we feel the budget will be and what will be in the ident. As the director, Michael was out main speaker and spoke about the budget, the actual idea. He spoke about the reason why he feels that dolls would be such a good idea in the ident and he also spoke about the costs and planning. As the designer, Dejhanea talked through the designs of the ideas using the dolls with animation and how it would look visually. This was demonstrated with a series of mock ups and sketches and she also spoke about what how she the colleges logo will look in the ident. As the producer I had to talk about the legal and ethical considerations ans what is appropriate from what is not e.g. clothing, the reason for this is because we are a Catholic school and for us to dress up a doll in inappropriate clothing this could create some backlash and they may feel that this will be to inappropriate. To add to this, Timmy emphasized the idea of the idents as a suite such as the theme and how he hows the ident will come across.
